The difference is in the connection
The right antenna for utilities, industry and critical communications
A-Antennas is a Swedish manufacturer of antennas for professional wireless data transmission. Its antennas are used in applications including smart metering, IoT, energy infrastructure, industry and Smart City solutions.
Choosing the right antenna involves more than selecting the correct frequency. Mounting, metal surfaces, cables, connectors and the installation environment all affect the connection. Alcadon can help you select a solution that matches both your radio system and the specific installation.
Ask us about antennas for industrial 3G, 4G and 5G LTE routers, among other applications.
A-Antennas is also part of Alcadon Group.

MidPatch LTE
A versatile LTE antenna for professional installations that require reliable mobile data communication. The MidPatch series can be used for applications including meter communications, utilities, IoT and industrial installations.
Suitable for:
Smart metering, energy infrastructure, IoT and industrial radio systems.
LTE MiniPatch
A compact antenna for installations where space is limited. The MiniPatch series is suitable for meter cabinets, technical enclosures and other equipment where the antenna needs to be discreet and easy to install.
Suitable for:
Meters, sensors, technical enclosures and compact IoT installations.

Broadband 450 + LTE Flat
A combination antenna supporting both 450 MHz and LTE. By covering multiple frequency ranges with a single antenna, it can simplify the installation.
Suitable for:
Utility infrastructure, meter communications and installations using both 450 MHz and mobile data communication.
Choosing the right antenna for your installation
Jari Paananen from A-Antennas has worked with antenna technology since 1988. Here, he shares his advice on choosing the right antenna for your installation.

The best antenna is not necessarily the one with the highest specified gain. A radio connection is affected by several factors at the installation site. Even a high-quality antenna can perform poorly if it is installed incorrectly or used in the wrong environment.
When selecting an antenna, you should therefore consider the radio system, mounting method and surrounding environment.
Frequency and radio system
The antenna must support the frequency used by the radio. This applies to both single-band solutions and installations that need to support multiple frequency ranges.
Start by identifying the frequency and radio technology being used, along with any requirements for LTE, 5G, 450 MHz, LoRa or other systems.
Signal strength and noise level
High signal strength alone does not guarantee a reliable connection. Electrical noise and other radio signals can affect communication at the installation site.
It is therefore important to assess the relationship between the required signal and the noise level. In some installations, a directional antenna or a different antenna position can improve the connection.
Mounting and nearby materials
Metal, concrete, insulation and other materials can reflect or absorb radio signals. Some antennas are designed for mounting on metal, while others require sufficient distance from metal surfaces to perform correctly.
The mounting location, antenna orientation and distance from enclosures, machinery and structural elements should therefore be considered when selecting the antenna.
Cable, connector and positioning
Cable length and cable type affect signal loss between the radio and the antenna. A long or incorrectly specified cable can reduce overall performance.
Connectors, cable routing and antenna positioning should be considered as part of the complete solution. In some cases, moving the antenna closer to an area with better signal reception will provide better results than simply choosing an antenna with higher gain.
