Learn how to reduce wasted time and installation errors in just 30 minutes
Many fiber installers still spend too much time correcting mistakes and replacing the wrong components. This costs both time and money, but it can be avoided.
In this webinar, CommScope and Alcadon show you how to choose the right fiber boxes and closures from the start, helping you work faster, more efficiently and with fewer errors.
In just 30 minutes, you'll get practical examples, simple ways to improve your daily installation work and an introduction to the latest product developments.
Morten Strøhemann from Alcadon is joined by John Porsborg from CommScope, who shares practical tips and advice based on his extensive industry experience.
Several useful questions were raised in the chat during the webinar.

Questions and Answers from the Webinar
1. Is there anything smaller than BUDI S that can accommodate EPFU grow-out? keyboard_arrow_down
The short answer is no.
The longer answer is that it depends on the installation. EPFU grow-out is often 16–18 mm, which cannot be accommodated in a small enclosure.
If you believe a smaller solution could work for your application, please contact us. We'll be happy to discuss your requirements.
2. When will IFEB be available to purchase? keyboard_arrow_down
IFEB is CommScope's compact indoor fiber box.
The product has been officially launched and is fully available. At the time of the webinar, Alcadon expected to begin shipping the first units from stock in December 2025 or January 2026.
Selected configurations may already be available from stock.
3. When should I choose IFEB instead of BUDI? keyboard_arrow_down

BUDI: Suitable for indoor and outdoor installations.
IFEB: Designed for indoor installations.
What to consider: If 80–90% of your installations are outdoors, for example in street cabinets, it will often be more cost-effective to stock BUDI boxes rather than IFEB or both product types.
This is particularly relevant if your company aims to keep the number of stock-keeping units (SKUs) to a minimum.
4. Can you recommend a general rule for bend radius inside fiber boxes? keyboard_arrow_down
Bend radius is important in fiber installations because bending the fiber too sharply causes optical signal loss.
An excessively tight bend can create microcracks, increase attenuation and, in the worst case, permanently damage the fiber.
Following the manufacturer's minimum bend radius, both during installation and in operation, helps maintain stable performance, low attenuation and a long service life for the fiber connection.
- Backbone/core networks: A bend radius of 30 mm is recommended, potentially down to 25 mm within suitable boxes or components.
- Access networks/customer connections: A bend radius of 15 mm is recommended, for example in wall outlets and fiber boxes.
